The archaeological finds in the anish National Museum are unique and wonderful. This the skeleton of an auroch that was wounded by arrows and fled into a lake near Vig around 8600 BC. Aurochs arrived in Denmark after the end of the Ice Age, c. 9000 BC and were extinct in Zealand by around 6000 BC. The last aurochs died in Poland in 1623.
