The Certosa Situla, bronze, end of 7c to beginning of 6c. The decoration is in four bands, of which the first three are a procession of warriors and women which can be interpreted either as a celebration of the return of a victorious military expedition or as a funeral parade leading up to the central figure of two men on a couch in a musical competition. Its original function was as a situla, a vessel for libations, but it ended up a century later than its manufacture as grave goods as an heirloom of the family.
