Hakodate manhole cover. There was a large fort (Goryokaku) built in 1855 in Hakdate in the shape of a 5-pointed star. The building shown appears to be the Former Public Hall of Hakodate Ward, which stands in Motomachi Park, 6 km souh of the fort.
