The Shogun ordered his subordinate daimyos to supply materials and workmen for big engineering projects like builing Osaka Castle. Eight of the largest stones were provided by the daimyo of what is now Okayama Prefecture, and three came from the daimyo of Kumamoto, on Kyushu.
