BIR-MAR-DEA: EDG001. "Displeased his father by his democratic principles" and left Scotland for America about 1710, to settle in Woodbridge Township near the town of Rahway. Listed as church member in Woodbridge on 10 Oct 1710. Built home "Edgarton" near right bank of Rahway Creek 1/4 mi after creek finishes SW run and turns E. (See maps p. 41 and vi, and photo p. 280.) Appears to be close to intersection of Hazlewood Ave. and Lawrence (Rte 514).
