Croatia 2017

A statue of Stjepan Radic at the east end of Trg Bana Josipa Jelačica. Radic founded the Croatian People's Peasant Party in 1905, when Croatia was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He opposed Serbian hegemony in Yugoslavia and was assassinated in the Yugoslav Parliament by a Serbian deputy who got away with it until the Communist partisans killed him in 1944.
