One of the most famous treasures of Nuremberg is "Angelic Salutation" (German: Engelsgruß) by Veit Stoss in Lorenzkirke. Anton Tucher commissoned it in 1517, and employed Albrecht Dürer as consultant to approve the work. Nuremberg became Protestant in 1525, and statues of Mary fell out of favor (to say the least).
