Main entrance courtyard. The house was built 1909-10. Robie had to sell the house after 14 months and eventually it was purchased in 1926 by the Chicago Theological Seminary. In 1957, when the Seminary planned to demolish the house, Wright quipped "It all goes to show the danger of entrusting anything spiritual to the clergy."
